Class S3

MAN(W. Germany) 880 hp. Imported in 1959. Imported the power car only. Four passenger compartments including the power car and the dummy. Withdrawn from the service since 2000. But S3 617 reported to be in in service even in 2006. Colour scheme changed from red to yellow/green and brown/green. First and only DMU entered service beyond Rambukkana up to Nanu Oya daily as a double set. First introduced with Podi Menike train. It served all broad gauge lines.
